The competition is currently scheduled for AFTER THE AP EXAMS, and if enough people join, the event will be held on May (TENTATIVE DATE).
In each match, only physical Chess boards will be used, and no external help are allowed to be used.
Each side will only be given 15 minutes, however, this could be changed due to time constraints.
[Signup forms will be added once the mandatory meeting is over]
The event will be held in 2 stages, one on each day, if there is a lot of people.
Stage 1 will involve a single-elimination tournament, where the loser of each round is eliminated and the winner moves on to go against other winners. This type of stucture allows for faster tournaments, however, contestants cannot make a single mistake in this stage, as they cannot afford to lose 1 round. The last 8 remaining in the stage will proceed to Stage 2.
Stage 2 will be a double-elimination tournament , where
Awards would include medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd plcae winners. More information would be shown when competition date is confirmed.
[Signup forms will be added once details has been finalized by Mr. Potson.
